"No, there is another." -Yoda
Hey there!
Sorry about the lag in time. I didn't have internet for a while, and, other factors, but let's continue!
Siblings. Yes. I have two.
I made it to Burlington, VT and got to hang with my sister and her boyfriend, John.

What a great weekend! Got to de-fish myself, eat, and rest.
We went out kayaking. Beautiful river with some pretty strong current. Not complaining though, it's always nice to get out and move around. Kayaking, hiking, etc.

Beaver!

Couldn't get a good shot of him. They're shy and good at avoiding predators. Imagine that.
....dancing too, I suppose.
Maria and John are huge swing dance nuts.
We went to a get together and had a great time. Got shown some steps that, NO, you will not see for a while.

The next day John and I went out for a ride! There is some amazing roads to ride out here.
He's got a newer Triumph. And my sister just got a BIKE!!! 250 Ninja.
What's this world coming to?

From Mt. Philo, overlooking Lake Champlain

Another camel! This one watches over some sheep! Oh and a round barn, although, I don't think that one is used too much.

John and a covered bridge

Me on covered bridge.

Burlington is pretty rad. Yup, I said it. RAD. All you need is proof of Subaru ownership to live here!
Had to scoot though, getting short on time. Going to Martha's Vineyard.
But first, a little detour in the Adirondack mountains.
Hopped on another ferry:

...And, back into NY

This place is called Sagamore. Our family came up here for a retreat when I was twelve. I was really amazing to see it again. I hasn't changed at all. Built in 1897. It was a summer getaway for the turn of the century elite. Most notably, Alfred Vanderbilt. It was turned into a conference center/retreat.
One of the cool features is the outdoor bowling alley. Complete with fireplace and a nifty way of retrieving the balls.

I have a picture of me somewhere in front of this cabin when I was 12......in army pants...and I'm standing in front of it.....in army pants.

While we were up here I was too young to participate in the meetings. So, I spent most of my time on the lake canoeing, waiting for the dinner bell.

The main lodge is very cool, and I'm pretty sure that was my first exposure to "Dorm style" where there is one bathroom to a floor. (Don't know why that stuck in my head).

Adjacent to the main "camp" was the workers camp.
Which I don't really remember, (All the time in the canoes.) but, really was fascinating. Barns, hen houses, a root cellar, and, such.

Sunset over Raquette Lake, NY.

I stopped and got to say hi to Jessica in Johnstown, and I'm pressing through to Cape Cod!
I found a small park in Williamstown MA to rest.
Although the sign said "No overnight camping". I'm not really camping. I'm more just falling down and sleeping.
HEHE. This was my only encounter with a police officer.
I woke up, barely, and had a light on me but I could see "Police" on the side of the car.
I was mentally startled, but half asleep at the same time.
The conversation went (I think) like this:
"Are you awake?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, I'm...Just resting"
"That's fine, I'm just making sure you were alright."
"Yeah, I just needed to close my eyes for a while"
"That's fine, have a good night"
"OK......Thanks."
I guess he saw my plate. It's pretty obvious that I'm traveling. Either way, I would imagine that they would rather that you rest, than ride around tired.
The ride through Massachusetts was really beautiful. This whole area is neat.
VT, western Mass, and, upstate NY. Very historical too. I'd love to come up here again and just do a history run.
HUH?

A small old graveyard right next to a river.
Buried 1796

Library in one of the many small towns.

Road. Sucks that I'm just going to miss the actual fall as I head more south.
Someone send me pictures!

That's cool. and, accurate! Boston really is that way! (Not that I think it would have moved... Boston, that is.)

As you near the coast things get a little more developed and busier. Got around Boston and in the area of Cape Cod.
Here's a cool railway bridge in Buzzard's Bay

There is another ferry to get into Martha's Vineyard.
There are NO signs that actually say "Martha's Vineyard" so, ask around.
Apparently I'm looking for Woods Hole....... I knew that.
Found the ferry. HUGE! Tour buses and semis coming out of it. Ferries are cool.

I met a biker that lived on Chappaquiddick and showed me the way to Edgartown.
Meeting a lot of wonderful people on this trip!
So I'm on the "Island" as they like to refer to it.
