"It might." -Han
Hello all!
Martha's Vineyard is pretty cool.
Here hanging with my bro!

The "Island" (I got reminded about three times to call it that) is nothing, but, kinda what I expected.
Not too developed, but, still kinda touristy. Being from Sarasota it wasn't that much of a shock. In fact, a couple of stores share homes here and back in St. Armands. Lot of Sarasota people here too. What gives?
Nonetheless, VERY scenic!
Which is good, because it used to look like this:

Just kidding, Jaws was filmed here though.
Great place for riding the bike around too.
I went out on a couple rides the first day I went across the Island I made it out to the far west side of the Island.

It's still early in the day but I plan on getting some sunset shots here. (You can see where this is going) I cruise around and get some more great pictures.
(Am I "Cruising"? geesh, I need to get off this bike soon....HAHA)

I'm pretty sure that's the "Alabama". One of the three tall ships here associated with the Black Dog Tavern.
So I get to the north side of the island, get some coffee (duh) and it's about 5:30. I figure I have plenty of time to get to the west end.......WRONG! It's only about 17 miles or so, but...
1. Average speed is 30 mph.....that's a high average.
2. I have now idea(er) where I'm going!
So I miss it. But it's the night of the harvest moon, so not all is lost. Check it!
How's that for a road pic?

When I get back I tell everyone about my underestimating the travel time around here, and, they just smile as to say yeah, didn't you know that? Next time I'm hanging out in Aquinnah early.
Nic and I head over to the main town of Oak Bluffs. There's a neat part of the town that used to be a Methodist camp set in a large circle, with lots of little "Gingerbread" houses on the former camp plots.........
AH! More mannequins!

...Back to history....

Nevermind.
Remember this from Burningman?

In real life:

Neato.
More ferries! This is the one from Edgartown to Chappaquiddick. The current is so strong that the have to go almost perpendicular to the slips!

Can I just say how cool it is to have a brother AND a sister that are chefs!!!

I'm no slouch in the kitchen either, but, they ROCK!
Took a bath:

HEHE Actually, that is me. A baby picture that my brother had.
So I planned to go out and get another shot at sunset.
I leave at 4:00 and get there just in time......at 6:30. 18 miles away!!! MAN!
100% WORTH IT!
One picture is not enough. Enjoy.

That was one of the best sunsets this trip!
Not much else on the island. The restaurant and coffee shop are downstairs, and, the bar is a block away. Life is good.
Should I tell Nic about the skunk I played with in front of the Cafe?

Time to leave the Vineyard, er, "Island".
I left on a Sunday. Good time too, cause the ferry was filled with Harleys and golf clubs.
One last shot of the Alabama as I leave.

Got my Black Dog hat.
Heading to Virginia!
Blue Ridges here I come.
