This is a compilation of blog posts I did during a 12,000 mile cross county road trip in the summer of 2007. I posted them here in a way so you can read them from beginning to end. Click on "Older posts" to go to the next page. Enjoy.

The Dragon

You're not actually going in there are you? - Princess Leia

Deals Gap, TN.
Home of the most famous motorcycle road "Tail of the Dragon".

This is a really fun road! Definitely lives up to the reputation.
Very tight and twisty!!
I've been riding crazy mountain roads for the better part of two months, so, I felt right at home.

We were very fortunate!! It was Wednesday and there were dark clouds looming.
We hit a little rain on the way there, but, it was dry in Deals Gap. So, that kept a lot of riders away!
We practically had the road to ourselves!!

There's some pictures of me here as well.

(Yes, that's me "throwing the goat" in the middle of a turn!)

There is some beautiful scenery as well, although it's passing by pretty fast, and you shouldn't take your eyes off the road. Here's the dam and lake at the top of the road.

Here's Bostyn, Cory, and I at the top.

I went up and down 4 times.
Here's me taking a rest!

Just kidding. Here's the real pic.

The Tree Of Shame!
Various bits and pieces left on the road, crash memorials, etc

Awesome road!!

During the night it started raining and continued through the day.
Still, I had to press on. Got rained on pretty much all the way to Atlanta.
Can I just comment on how much fun it is riding through Atlanta.
You think Deals Gap is death defying......

Always have to check on one of my bestest friends, Pina.

Yup, still nuts, but, love her.

Dry my clothes, get some rest, and then home!
I knew this part of the trip would be fairly boring. I've seen the interstate to Atlanta plenty of times.
There is some cool stuff to explore around there, not to mention the coast. Soon I am going to take 41 up to Atlanta, but that's some other road trip.

Sooooooo, I think that's it......... whoa.
